Memphis Memories: The day before Halloween in 1952 Memphis fire fighters were sent into stores in the city to identify Halloween masks that were considered highly inflammable. Commissioner Claude Armour banned the sale of these plastic masks that were deemed as dangerous according to the Federal Trade Commission.

Beale Street Memories: Popular WDIA disc jockey Nat D. Williams frequently spoke of the positive aspects of Beale Street in the local media. Williams was the first African-American disc jockey in Memphis.

Memphis Memories: Civil rights leader George W. Lee led a campaign to raise money for war bonds.The funds were able to purchase the parts for a B-24 Consolidated Liberator bomber.
