La Despensa Wines:

Making wine in Chile was very much not Matt Ridgway's design when he left his home in Dorset, England, for Southeast Asia to travel, meet people, and maybe teach English as a second language. But he ended up fixing up and flipping houses to pay for his next adventure, somehow ending up in Chile's Colchagua Valley.

There he met his now wife and bought another fixer-upper. A neighbor told him he'd end up planting a vineyard within two years. Matt said, "Nope." And then, in 2013, did it anyway. With grapes in the ground, the normal thing at this point would have been to go to winemaking school or, at least, get a job in another winery to learn. Instead, Matt read some books, watched a lot of YouTube videos and accepted help and advice from neighbors and friends.

Yes you have seen him on the back bar a lot but this Saturday you will get the chance to taste Jose's selection of wine. Jose has not only worked in the wine industry around the US, he also travels to Burgundy every year to participate in their harvest. He knows his stuff so you know it is going to be good!
