My reasons for rejecting God as the Creator
My goal is not to criticize any religion, but rather to understand the roots of religious conflict. Please forgive me if I offend anyone's beliefs or feelings. I did not intend to, however.
The belief in a creator God has, throughout history, been used to justify the massacre of countless people and the destruction of societies in the name of establishing dominance. Despite our refusal to discuss past genocides, they persist to this day. Although they all adhere to a belief in one God, traditional faiths engage in violence against each other in the name of that same singular deity. Conversions, by any means necessary, continue to this day. Unless you share their faith, they won't be good neighbors. In the Middle East, Jews and Muslims, Sunni and Shia Muslims in Muslim nations, and Hindus and Muslims in India all refuse to live near each other for the same cause. It started when we acknowledged God's role in the creation of the universe. I regret we accepted it and wish we'd continued searching for the "True God". The moment we embrace an idea, even a perfect one, our quest for knowledge ends. History is full of accidental discoveries made while pursuing other goals. Americas, penicillin, the Benzene ring, and many more. Our search for God ended; our battles in His name began. Imagine finding God only to be disappointed that he's not as I expected. I plan to ask him about cancer, strong winds, and the weeds in my yard. He might answer, "Hey, I just created it, I didn't design it." I have to start looking for the GOD, the architect. I am okay with that; my search continues. I prefer the path of inquiry to that of hateful faith. Creating my own God is more appealing to me than accepting one created by others. What were the conflicts of humanity before the existence of religious wars?
