Lately, agave nectar has been popping up in more and more cocktail recipes, and for good reason. This natural, ultra‑sweet syrup—drawn from the agave plant—offers an earthy richness reminiscent of honey, yet entirely its own. It’s clearly having a moment, too; spotting it recently on a grocery store shelf from none other than the Domino Sugar folks confirmed just how mainstream it’s become. Agave nectar is a natural companion to spirits like tequila and rum, adding depth and character wherever simple syrup might otherwise appear. While exploring cocktails that showcase this versatile sweetener, we came across the Paloma. Frequently hailed as Mexico’s true favorite cocktail, it’s a drink with wide appeal and easy charm. At its most basic, it’s a refreshing mix of blanco tequila, grapefruit soda, and lime—simple, accessible, and undeniably good. For those looking to elevate the experience just a bit, however, we invite you to try the following recipe, which leans into fresh flavors and thoughtful balance.

With Cinco de Mayo on the horizon, it’s the perfect moment to put a fresh spin on the classic Margarita. This version traces its roots to a long‑ago discovery in a well‑worn cocktail book, but it truly earned its reputation after being poured at the pool bar of Sanibel Island’s Casa Ybel Resort—where it was met with enthusiastic approval from sun‑soaked guests.

The Corcovado Cocktail is a playful twist on the traditional Gold Margarita. Swapping Grand Marnier for Drambuie, if offers subtle notes of Scotch and honey into the mix, while a splash of Blue Curaçao adds both citrus brightness and a striking aquamarine hue. The result is a Margarita that feels festive, unexpected, and tailor‑made for warm weather celebrations.

The story of Pimm’s begins in 1823, when London shell‑fish monger James Pimm set out to create a very specific drink: the perfect companion for oysters. From his Central London Oyster Bar, Pimm created a gentle, refreshing beverage—a gin‑based concoction infused with fruit juices, herbs, and spices, designed to complement food rather than overpower it. The result was an instant success and the foundation of what would become one of Britain’s most enduring drinks.

Spring has a way of announcing itself subtly at first—longer days, brighter markets, and the unmistakable arrival of fresh strawberries. Sweet, fragrant, and bursting with color, strawberries are one of the season’s first true gifts, and they practically beg to be turned into something celebratory. Enter the Strawberry‑Balsamic Margarita: a cocktail that balances springtime freshness with a slightly unexpected savory twist.

If cocktail history had a hall of fame for overachievers, the Aviation would be right up front, polishing its pale‑blue halo. Born in 1916 at New York City’s Wallick Hotel, this sky‑high classic was dreamed up by Hugo Ensslin—back when actual aviation was still more “daring experiment” than “annoying layover.” The drink itself is a small miracle of balance: gin’s crisp backbone, Luxardo Maraschino’s floral cherry bite, and that elusive splash of Crème de Violette that transforms the whole glass into a liquid sunset (or sunrise, depending on how your day is going).

Even if the weather insists on remaining cold, we’re choosing to believe spring is definitely on the way. And nothing says “I refuse to accept these arctic temperatures” quite like a drink inspired by one of spring’s earliest troublemakers: rhubarb. This tart, earthy red stalk (lovely to drink, terrible to nibble—leave the poisonous leaves alone) brings big flavor and bigger personality to the glass.

Today we’re serving up the recipe for a Strawberry‑Rhubarb Sangria that’s bright, refreshing, and downright brunch‑worthy. With Easter on the horizon, it’s the perfect ice‑breaker—literally, if the cold sticks around—for family, friends, and anyone who appreciates a little spring in their sip.

With Saint Patrick’s Day fast approaching, it feels only right to turn our attention to one of Ireland’s most iconic contributions to the world of warm, spirited comforts: the Irish Coffee. And like any drink with staying power, its origin story is as rich as the beverage itself.

Legend has it that on a bleak, windswept evening in Ireland, a weary group of travelers stepped off a plane chilled to the bone. To revive them, they were offered fresh brewed coffee, laced it with Irish whiskey capped it with a soft blanket of cream. The effect was immediate—comfort, warmth, and a spark of good cheer. In that moment, the Irish Coffee was born.

Here in the U.S., the drink found its spiritual home at San Francisco’s Buena Vista Café. For more than 65 years, bartenders there have perfected their craft, serving countless glasses and elevating the drink to a kind of caffeinated celebrity. Their version remains the gold standard, and with good reason.

Below, we share the Buena Vista’s celebrated recipe—along with one thoughtful twist of our own: swapping the two traditional sugar cubes for a spoonful of brown sugar, which adds a deeper, caramel‑tinged sweetness that plays beautifully with the whiskey and coffee.

Who else is guilty of walking around with a coffee cup attached to their hand 24/7? 🤣 We sure are! And that's exactly what inspired today's cocktail. While hot coffee drinks are a dime a dozen, iced coffee cocktails are like unicorns - rare and magical! 😂

So, we decided to shake things up (literally) and create The Juan Valdez Old Fashioned, featuring the perfect blend of bourbon and iced coffee. Cheers to a buzz that's both caffeinated and, well, buzzed! 🍻
