Right off the first nose, you’ll be hit with hickory and vanilla. Take a moment and you will start to notice subtle undertones of forest vegetation lingering toward the back.
The first sip is pure honey almost as if it was stored in a barrel and left to steep. The mouthfeel is thick, rich, and full-bodied, while that 100 proof delivers a little sharpness with the first Kentucky hug.
But as your palate warms up to it, everything starts to soften, and it becomes absolutely beautiful.
For some reason maybe it’s the honey and those forest-like notes. it takes me back to being a kid and dreaming about the Hundred Acre Wood: a pot of honey, a clumsy bear, and all of his friends.
