A bittersweet announcement from our family—long post ahead, but this one comes straight from the heart. ❤️
After much prayer, we are ready to officially share that Twin Bridges Country Store is under new ownership. Prince Patel and his family will be taking over, and we sincerely hope this community will continue supporting them just as you have supported our family and our small local business over the last several years.
Before anything else, I need to thank my husband, David. He has been my partner in this business and in life. He has tolerated me working what felt like 24/7, listened to countless conversations about how we could grow, and busted my chops when it was time to get the books reconciled, the taxes completed and all the less glamorous parts of owning a business handled.
Being business partners while also being married is not for the faint of heart. There have been stressful days, disagreements, long hours and plenty of lessons learned. But we grew through it, loved one another through it and discovered once again that we truly do make a great team. I could not have done any of this without him.
I also want to recognize our son, Connor, who has worked alongside us from the very beginning. While attending UNF full-time and maintaining over a 4.0 GPA, he has taken on more responsibility than most 20-year-olds. He has given countless hours to this store and has been instrumental in keeping everything going.
And when the dreaded 4:00 or 5:00 a.m. callout came, I would go knocking on his bedroom door. Every single time, he got up, went to the store and covered the shift without a complaint—or at least not one I heard! He stepped in wherever he was needed, worked hard and carried an incredible amount of responsibility. David and I could not have done this without him, and we are immensely proud of the young man he is!
We would also like to thank our team—Cayla and Bobbie, along with Allie, who has been such a valued flex employee. They showed up, cared for our customers and helped carry the day-to-day responsibilities of running the store. None of this would have been possible without a great team, and we have truly been blessed with one.
It has been an honor and a privilege to serve this community. What began as a business quickly became so much more because of the people who walked through our doors. We are incredibly grateful for every customer who shopped with us, encouraged us, shared our posts, told others about us and became part of the Twin Bridges family along the way.
Over the past year, God has brought new goals, responsibilities and changes into our personal lives—including welcoming our 15-year-old cousin, Lexi, into our home as we work toward adopting her. After a great deal of thought and prayer, we knew that stepping away from the day-to-day operation of the store and passing Twin Bridges Country Store along was what was best for our family during this season.
Although this chapter is coming to an end, a new one is already beginning. I will complete my Functional Medicine Coaching program in February, and I cannot wait to begin helping others work toward optimal health by better understanding root causes, hormone health and the many factors that affect their overall well-being.
We will also continue offering bulk Black Angus beef, so this is not goodbye! You will probably still see my car next door for a while as we finish renovating the rental house and prepare it to rent. We also still have a few storage spaces available, so feel free to reach out if you or someone you know needs one.
Today, Wednesday, October 28, will be our family’s final day operating Twin Bridges Country Store. We will be at the store until 9:00 p.m., so if you would like to stop by and say hello—or simply “see you later”—we would absolutely love to see you.
Above everything else, I hope our time at Twin Bridges has shown that God’s will and keeping Him at the center of our lives are what matter most. We prayed over this business, we prayed through this decision, and we trust Him to lead us into whatever comes next.
If He is not at the center of your life, my invitation to you today is simple: have a little talk with Jesus. He is still changing lives, directing paths and writing stories—including ours.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting our family and allowing us to be part of this community. We will always be grateful for the memories, friendships and relationships we made here.
