It’s with heavy hearts that the Mr. C’s family joins so many others in mourning the sudden and devastating loss of our dear friend, Steve.
Steve wasn’t just a regular—he was family. The kind of man who left a mark on everyone he met. A kind soul, a sharp wit, and one of the best men you’ll ever come across. His laughter filled a room. His sarcasm was unmatched. And his loyalty ran deep—for his friends, his community, and especially his family.
We are still trying to wrap our heads around this unimaginable loss. The Buckets Family said it best: “The word devastated does not even come close to explaining the shock on Sunday morning.” Steve was a fixture in Southern Maryland—at Buckets, on the field with the Solomons Steelers, here at Mr. C’s, and everywhere in between.
So many of you have asked how you can help support Steve’s wife Melissa and their two sons, Owen and Cole. A GoFundMe has been set up by the Solomons Steelers SBGC Family and can be found here:

Buckets will also be accepting cash or gift card donations directly at the bar.
Next Wednesday night, the 21st, Buckets will host a pop-up tribute in his honor. We encourage you to stop by, sing a song, share a story, and raise a glass to the man who gave us all so much to laugh about.
When the time is right, a larger celebration of Steve’s life will be held—but for now, we grieve together, we support each other, and we remember the incredible friend we’ve lost.
We love you, Steve. You left a huge hole in our world that no one else can fill. Until we meet again.
