See that beautiful blue sky? So happy to have some fresh air after a week of smoke from the fires. The evacuation "warning" was lifted last night after the amazing firefighters worked so hard to protect all the ranches around Mary & I. At its closest the fire was maybe 3 miles away! My biggest take away from this fire was how good people really are. The offers of a place to stay, a truck to help move valuables, the smile from the CHP at the road block keeping the looters away or the random phone call from friends just checking on us. Just overwhelming. Countless text messages between our neighbors with the latest fire info helped kept us sane throughout the week, and maybe a little wine too. And the guys who showed up to work on our new house in the crappy conditions, not one complaint from a single one. Blessed to be surrounded by so many good people.
