This is Myles Erwin (left) from the corporate office in Las Cruces. Myles served in the US Navy from '96-'99. He was an Aviation Ordnanceman and served with an F/A-18 squadron, VFA-25 the Fist of the Fleet. Myles worked aboard super carriers USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70), USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) and briefly aboard the USS Nimitz (CVN-68).

Myles is pictured here with his grandfather; he was a US Navy WWII veteran and served as a Radarman on the Aircraft Carrier USS Saratoga CV-3 (yes, the third Carrier ever built). He saw very intense action throughout the Pacific Theater, including the battles of Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima.

Thank you for your service to our country and commitment to our company! Happy Veteran's Day Myles!

is as rare as the sacred buffalo; Native Americans call it “Sacred Buffalo Turquoise”. When discovered near Battle Mountain , they were not sure what it was. Because of the hardness of the stone, and the color of the vein, a decision was made to have it examined and tested. It was in fact . Dry Creek Turquoise is a natural stone and has not been treated with any process to change the color and/o the hardness of the natural materials of the stone.

Turquoise gets it color from the heavy metals in the ground where it forms. It is hydrous phosphate of aluminum, containing copper and iron and so it is somewhat porous. Blue turquoise forms when there is copper present, which is the case with most Arizona Turquoise. Green Turquoise forms when iron is present, which is the case with some Nevada Turquoises. Dry Creek Turquoise forms when there are no heavy metals present. The lack of any specific color consistency and exotic matrixes varieties makes this stone distinctive and unique from other turquoises. To date, no other vein of this turquoise has been discovered anywhere else other than at the Dry Creek mine.
