Super Bowl is almost here! We're thinking about putting out some Super Bowl Brisket Slider Pans for pickup on Sunday? It'd be a full size deep pan, which would hold between 32-40 of the BEST brisket sliders this side of I20. $80 - If you're interested, please send us a message!

Back by popular demand - Fried Smoked Bologna Sammich w / fries. Two thick slices of beef bologna, melted provolone, served on toasted Sourdough. If you're mostly a carnivore, have them hold the rabbit food when you order. $12

This will be a permanent menu item starting today.

Good morning! It's an amazing 20 degrees at Chital with patchy ice in the parking lot and patchy traffic on 20. With a high of 39 today, we're expecting most of the ice to be gone and return back to normal tomorrow.

Although we never asked for it, we had a few people donate $$ for our first responder / high vis coveralls campaign. THANK YOU for your generosity. We're going to pool those funds for the next Texas weather event. We know for a fact they appreciated the gesture - A LOT. Thank you for helping us help them.

Tis a BEAUTIFUL morning at Chital. It's a balmy 15 degrees with a slight chance of ice. The traffic count on 20 is somewhere between 0 and none. Sanding fairies were here a few times last night so our overpass looks like a graveled county road, but in much better shape and without holes.

We're fully staffed this AM and ready for each and every one of you - literally. Thank you Megan, Georgia and even Sway Davis who made the trek from Canton this AM, successfully this time.

Yes - we're still taking care of all those folks in uniforms and high vis coveralls today. We expect as the ice starts to heat mid afternoon, their work is REALLY going to start. We're here for it.

There's been 2 cars and 1 truck on 20 since 6am this morning 😆. The only traffic is in Van, which is a decent herd of line trucks staged up ready for a power outage.

We're extending our offer of free meals to all those Linemen today. We're here to keep you fed and warm while you keep the power on.

It's been a rough night for some first responders / wreckers and we're sure their day isn't going to be any better.

Y'all are welcome to stage, get warm, get fed... get whatever you need. You will eat free here today and tonight. Know we appreciate the work you're doing.

Generator test today - CHECK MARK.

Van / Lindale area. If ya'll lose power, we will be a warming station... That bad boy generator will run everything we have and there's enough fuel to run it for 5 days. Don't go cold or hungry this weekend. We'll be open and serving up the good stuff, which will include our regular menu and some incredible, from scratch Brisket Chili. Choose between a hot bowl of Chili or Chili Cheese Fries. Stay warm and safe.

It's not a pleasant thing to admit to unless there's a storm coming and others are running out.

Tankers have filled us up for the weekend with gas AND diesel. Unfortunately we don't have our propane set up yet - but it's coming.

Regardless of the weather, we'll be open this weekend. If you need food, fuel, snacks or just a place to skate to this weekend - we'll be here.

Our Pizza guy, Justin, decided he wanted to do some Chital 1/2 size Calzones... He's cranking out some Pepperoni, Supreme, BBQ Chicken, Italian Sausage and a few others. $6 each - they are fresh and just hit the hot grab and go case. Come and get them!

We call them the "Young Whipper Snappers" and yes - we sent them to pizza prep with 0 experience and said "make pizza".... It was a messy and wild start, and I'm glad we don't have smoke activated sprinkler system in place - but in a very short time they started turning out some INCREDIBLE pizza, with the hands down favorite the BBQ Brisket loaded 12". Pictured is the Chicken Shawarma loaded 12". We'll be doing some refining as we move forward - but proud of these younguns for getting it done, without questions or even direction. Welcome to our method of training. Pictured very back is Jo, one our night matriarchs and second mom over the young crew, who bit her tongue more than once 😂.
