Quilts by Mom-n-Me

Quilts by Mom-n-Me Help your family remember their greatest memories with a quality T-Shirt Quilt! We chose to make a quilt, and so our journey began.

*A few years ago my Mom and I decided it was time to do something with all the t-shirts I had saved for my daughter. We LOVE the idea that no two quilts have the same pattern. T-shirts are NOT created equal and should not be used equal in a quilt. You will notice that all of our quilts utilize only the design on the t-shirts.
*The entire quilt is made from your t-shirts, there is no sashing.
*Ther

e are no rows or columns in the quilt.
*Each block is cut to fit the design on the t-shirt not a preset size block.
*We make 2 sizes of quilts:
Lap Quilt - 4 ft x 5 ft - 20-25 t-shirts - $200
Large Lap Quilt - 4 ft x 6 ft - 25-30 t-shirts - $230
*We are able to incorporate things other than t-shirts. We have used sweatshirts, brownie vests, underwear, blankets, leotards, etc. Again, the beauty of not using all 12x12 squares!
*Pricing includes all materials. Shipping would add $15 to the order price. We accept cash or checks only. Half of the price of the quilt is due upon ordering. When the quilt is finished, we will email you a photo of your quilt and an invoice. Upon receipt of final payment your quilt will be shipped.

When Joey contacted me to make a blanket for his girlfriend little did I know what a flashback it would be! Hunter cheered with my oldest daughter Megan 13 years ago. What a walk down memory lane.
Loved including special touches like the skirt headband and gloves.

Our Story

In 2012, my mom and grandma started a t-shirt quilting business, "Quilts by Mom-n-Me," over their mutual love for quilting and making people in our community in suburban Chicago happy. They made t-shirt quilts for everyone - the neighbor down the street who ran marathons, the varsity cheerleader who wanted to remember every cheerleading competition of high school, even girls in my sorority who wanted to commemorate all the mixers attended over four years of college. My mom and grandma were so close, and it was so heartwarming to see them have a hobby where they could spend time together doing something they both really loved. . . At 78, my grandma was doing Pilates every morning and loved to cross-country ski every winter. Just three quick months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2015, she passed. It happened so fast, and we were devastated. We keep her memory and quilting spirit alive in "Quilts by Mom-n-Me," as I now help my mom run her small business, and it makes me so happy to work with my mom as a creative outlet for both of us, while helping remember one of my grandma's favorite hobbies.
