Bourbiskey is back! It was a challenging journey, but we have prevailed. We are based on the outskirts of Lexington. You will be seeing some really cool bottles with some great whiskey.

Thank you to all those that sent encouraging messages, stopped by the building while I was cleaning it out, and who won’t let city officials go without accountability.

We’ve found a new location!!! Wow, a city that wants business. I’ll announce the location when we get closer to opening.

To commemorate this unnecessary event, I’m making a custom bottle that will show Williamstown city officials on just how I feel. You’re going to love it. I’ve designed the label and it looks really cool. An awesome bottle that will be filled with some great bourb. Obviously, this will be released once all of my permits are transferred to the new location. Stay tuned.

Best job I’ve ever had

Update:

First, thank you for all the emails, messages, and stopping me around the city. I appreciate all the support.

We are leaving before we even got started. I don't want to, but the city officials are forcing me to. Here is a brief timeline of events so you can see what I've been dealing with.

December 2022 - Williamstown zoning approved my application. I soon sign a lease after this and start the planning.

January - onward - lots of time and money spent on the business.

June 6 2023 - City officials approve my business license and zoning approves me (again!). I plan to open the business June 12th.

June 8 2023 - City officials notify me that my license/permit are denied because my business is in the central business district and my business is not zoned for this location. You read that correctly. The city/zoning approved me twice over a course of 7 months but all of a sudden, it's a problem.

June 8 - onward - I hired an attorney to fight but I'm running out of money and patience. Plus, the city is using your/my taxpayer money to prevent me from opening the business.

August 2 2023 - city officials and my team had a meeting at the city building. The city advises that they will need 7-10 days to reconsider and to try to find a resolution that both sides can live with. Well, they turned me down and sent an email which contained a sentence that pretty much describes city official's stance of businesses in Williamstown. See attachment.

What's next - we found another location; that city is very open to the business. I just need to get my permits updated which may take a few months.

How can you help: Keep following us. You can call (859-824-6351) or email the Williamstown mayor and express your concern on the situation. [email protected]
