🥃 Kansas City bourbon with some serious credentials.

J. Rieger Bottled-in-Bond Straight Bourbon is a 6-year-old, 100-proof bourbon distilled and aged in Kansas City.

It uses a higher-rye mash bill of 56% corn, 30% rye, and 14% malted barley, giving it a nice mix of sweetness, spice, and richness. Rieger’s tasting notes call out apple pie, dark cherry, plum, honey-cinnamon, vanilla, caramel, and dark-roast coffee.

It also earned Double Gold at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

The new Golden Pharaoh is a single-barrel, barrel-strength straight rye finished in barrels seasoned with Egyptian black honey and tiger nuts, inspired by an ancient Egyptian recipe. (One More Dram)

This one has a pretty cool story behind it.

Neeley Family Distillery originally planned for this batch to become another Bottled-in-Bond Four Grain Bourbon, but after tasting the wh***ey straight from the barrel, Rebekah Neeley decided it was simply too good to proof down.

So they left it uncut at barrel strength — 112.4 proof. (Your Bourbon Journey⁠)

And the name?

The wh***ey naturally came out loaded with banana character, with tasting notes described as Banana Runts, vanilla, fresh banana bread, brown sugar, and a creamy mouthfeel. (Your Bourbon Journey⁠)

🥃🔥 Booker’s The Reserves 2026 has landed — and this year’s release is a major curveball.

For 2026, Booker’s took Kentucky Straight Rye Wh***ey, aged it 6 years, 2 months and 23 days, then finished it in apple brandy barrels with cinnamon. It’s bottled uncut at 125.1 proof, exactly the kind of full-strength Booker’s profile collectors expect.

This is especially interesting because Booker’s almost never releases rye. The 2026 Reserves is only the second rye release in Booker’s history, following the highly sought-after Booker’s Rye from 2016.

Beam’s notes point toward apple and seasoned oak on the nose, then barrel char, vanilla and caramel, finishing with a warm apple-pie character.
