The City of Lawtey, Florida is located in rural Northern Bradford County on U.S. Highway 301 approximately 45 miles Southwest of Jacksonville, FL. LPD take's pride in offering quality and professional law enforcement services to the community while maintaining a small town approach.

The officers are pro-active and patrol all residential and business areas as well as respond to service calls and make reasonable efforts to keep traffic flowing slowly and safely through the city limits. Additionally, all City of Lawtey Police Officers are sworn Bradford County Deputy Sheriffs and through their mutual aid agreement assist with calls and provide backup as needed in the county area. MISSING JUVENILE ALERT

On June 2nd, 2025, contact was made with the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a missing child. Andriah George was last seen 367 N. Temple Ave (Grannies) around 9:40am. Andriah is believed to be wearing the same Black/White Converse Shoes, Black Sweatshirt, Knee High Socks, Black Backpack, and Glasses as seen in the photo. She is believed to be on foot and left in an unknown direction.

If anyone has any information on Andriah, please contact the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office at 904-966-6161.

Update: Luke has been located and is safe, we appreciate our community’s assistance and looking out!

MISSING JUVENILE ALERT

On May 26th, 2025, contact was made with the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a missing child. Luke Perona was last seen at home around 4:00 PM on the day of May 26th. Luke is believed to have been wearing a white/blue long sleeve shirt and dark blue swimming shorts. Luke is possibly on a yellow Honda side by side.

Every 47 minutes, someone not wearing a safety belt dies in a car crash.

In 2022, 11,302 unbelted individuals were killed in car crashes.

In 2023, 91.9% of adult front-seat passengers used safety belts during the day.

Nighttime fatalities in 2022: 6,252 unrestrained occupants, compared to 4,949 during the day.

57% of nighttime crash fatalities involved unbelted occupants.

60% of 18 to 34-year-olds killed in 2022 crashes were unrestrained.

In 2022, 54% of male and 41% of female passenger vehicle fatalities were unbelted.
