Very few stores have a Single Barrel of Bardstown Bourbon. Bardstown Bourbon Company is relatively new when compared to the older traditional brands. If you're interested in something truly amazing and unique, this single barrel version of Minor Case will fit that bill.

On our latest trip to Kentucky, the Degenerates and I were offered an "orphan barrel" from the Limestone Branch Distillery. The distillery had 40 or so random barrels that were stored back when they were getting established. These barrels never made it to market under the normal process.

Typically, we avoid a rye whiskey, however the nose on this one was spectacular. We tried this blind and needless to say, it was a must have.

It's a vanilla bomb on the front with just a small touch of spice on the end to remind you that it's still a rye. Otherwise, you would think it's a dessert bourbon that had a Snickers soaking in it.

At 110 proof and $62.99, you may not find a better pour all year.
