Wow! What a great event!.
🩸 Ready to roll up your sleeve?!
Tuesday, Sept. 1, is the first local “Badger Boost” blood drive as part of Abbott and the Big Ten Conference’s annual We Give Blood Drive competition.
⏰ 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
📍 Kenosha Public Museum, 5500 First Ave.
And there’s a little something in it for the donors, too! Each donor will receive:
🧢 A UW-Madison hat of their choice
đź‘• A Big Ten T-shirt of their choice
🍦 A pint of Culver’s custard
The Big Ten university that records the most blood donations between Aug. 12 and Dec. 4 will receive a $1 million grant from Abbott to support community or student health initiatives.
But this competition is about more than bragging rights. Donated blood has a direct, life-saving impact right here in Kenosha.
The Kenosha Fire Department is the first fire-based EMS service in Wisconsin to carry blood on all of its front-line ambulances. Through the department’s dynamic prehospital blood administration program, paramedics can deliver lifesaving transfusions at the scene of an emergency, giving patients a critical head start before arriving at the hospital.
That means blood donated locally can help save lives in Kenosha in real time, often within minutes of a traumatic injury or medical emergency.
❤️ Roll up your sleeve, give blood and give Wisconsin a Badger Boost! Donors can register online at bit.ly/BadgerBoost or register in person.
