A few weeks ago at our Kenai Rotary Club meeting we had a special guest speaker - Diane Taylor, a Director at Alaska Wildlife Alliance. She spoke about the Alaska Beluga Monitoring Program and concerns for Cook Inlet Belugas. It's so eye opening to know that beluga groups are specific to a location. Cook Inlet Belugas live and migrate only around here. Even more poignant is that Cook Inlet Beluga population has declined from 1200 to *300*. I haven't been able to stop thinking about this since and it's the inspiration for my original and exclusive design that will hopefully help support continued awareness to the Cook Inlet Belugas 💙

I will be putting together a % of all proceeds to donate to AWA who supports not only the belugas but other wildlife conservation in Alaska which will include names of everyone who purchases!

Let's keep Alaska magical - Tees & Stickers coming soon!

Cheers, Emma

Totally Awesome Thursdays! New at Willow Ptarmigan - The art of Theresa Ritter - Oh My Crafty Heart based here in Kenai! 💜 Paintings, Multimedia, Note Cards and more!

Theresa’s work captures both the whimsical, retro and nostalgic with a dash of dark humor and range of style-subject that depict those little glimpses of Alaska life that feel instantly familiar — cute, nostalgic, a little retro, and full of sentiment. The kind of artwork that can bring back a memory, make you smile, foster a laugh or remind you of a place, a season, or a feeling...

Excited to have Oh My Crafty Heart join the Willow Ptarmigan family and to share Theresa’s work with our Kenai community and visitors from near and far!

Cheers,
Emma
