Wanamakers General Store is an old-fashioned, family-owned general store in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. We offer everything from groceries and homemade deli items to locally produced crafts and made-in-the-USA toys. Wanamakers is located within minutes of Leaser Lake, Hawk Mountain B&B, Hawk Mountain Bird Sanctuary, The Birds Nest B&B, The Country Seat, and WK&S Steam Railroad which s

tops at the store on summer weekends. In the late 1870s, Elias Hoppes, a civil war veteran (present at Lee's surrender at the Appamattox Court House) built the store from brick manufactured in the adjoining meadow, and timber milled from the slopes of the Blue Mountains in Northern Lehigh County. Since then the store has remained operational through three Pennsylvania families—the Reinharts for 74 years, David and Deborah Bond for 25 years, and now us, A***n and Tim Hungaski since May 2007. In 2011 Kyra Hendricks joined us as manager and took on a part ownership role in 2013, and became the sole owner in 2018. Come experience a long tradition of quality goods & honest service.
