Happy International Women’s Day!!!

Desert Roads is a woman-owned & operated small business (run by me, Becca 👋).

I am constantly inspired by and in awe of the incredible women in my life. They explore. They laugh. They make art. They extend care. They capture moments. They love. They run. They view life with youthful exuberance. They play. They annihilate goals. They read. They stand by one another. They encourage. They comfort. They are, in large part, what gives me strength in my days. They are women.

Thank you to all the women in my life! You guys are my anchor in the chaos of life! ._.elizabeth .snak And to all the other women in my life either not on Insta or with whom I don’t have photos but who are equally as appreciated!

*2025*

Here’s to Year 2 of Desert Roads!

I’m honestly in a fair amount of disbelief at how incredible this year has been for my little business. It’s been another twelve months of consistent, sustainable growth that I feel so lucky to have experienced. Yes, it’s a lot of personal work behind the scenes and many, many hours spent creating, but I really & truly owe Desert Roads’ success to its supporters. From the local Kanab community with its small business owners and promoters, to the visitors who have fallen in love with the beauty of the region and want something to remember their time by, to my followers, friends & family who have made a thousand shows of support in about as many different ways. I am so absolutely grateful for each & every person and each & every act of support. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

To continue the tradition, here’s some stats for the year…

2025 saw…
•14 new sticker designs, 4 new postcard designs, and one new print design for Desert Roads
•over 2800 stickers, 300 magnets, 250 postcards, and about 20 prints sold!
•four logo/branding projects
•two custom wedding print designs
•five custom sticker designs
•one custom greeting card design
•10 Farmers’ Market days
•15 website orders
•six local shops stocking Desert Roads
•and one happy Becca 😊

With 2025 just about wrapped up, I’m of course already looking ahead to 2026. I’m excited to have current projects in the works that I’ll finish up early in the new year and to have new projects on the horizon. AND I’ll finally have a dedicated studio space to work since Tony & I recently bought and renovated a house in Kanab! Happy New Year everyone!!! May 2026 bring you everything you hope for & need in life!

Field trip time! Thanksgiving brought some good luck and I scored a permit to take my brother & sister-in-law out to Coyote Buttes South. So of course my magnet hitched a ride to its namesake location! This particular formation is known by many as the “Control Tower”. What do you see when you look at it? 👀

Coyote Buttes South is a permitted-area adjacent to Coyote Buttes North (the Wave permit area) that is a whimsical wonderland of swirling color & misshapen formations. It truly feels no less than magical wandering around the landscape, exploring nooks & cranies, and finding whole worlds of otherworldly nature welcoming you. The rock tells the story of what was once the largest sand dune desert in Earth’s history nearly 200 million years ago and shows how erosion has brought it back to view over time.

To visit Coyote Buttes South, you first need to acquire a permit via either the Advanced or Daily lottery system on recreation.gov. Once you have permit in hand, you’ll need a 4 wheel drive, high clearance vehicle, as well as knowledge of how to drive in deep sand, to get you out there. Don’t try to call the road’s bluff, cause it’s not bluffing. If you don’t have access to 4x4, don’t fret—hire a guide! It’ll be well-worth it! Hit up Kanab Tour Company and tell them Becca sent you for a discount! And please feel free to request me as your guide. I’d love to show you South Coyote and fill you up with all sorts of nerdy facts throughout the day!

Stickers and magnets of Coyote Buttes South are available on the website (link in bio)!

Another installment of Desert Roads on the move! This time to Bryce Canyon National Park! Bryce is known for its unique hoodoos, a type of rock formation that stand like sentinels throughout the main amphitheater. Two main factors lead to the creation of these hoodoos: ice & rain. Water that seeps into cracks in the rock will freeze on over 170 nights out of the year, leading the water to expand by 9%, cleaving the rock apart. In addition, all the rock within the park has an abundance of calcium carbonate. This mineral dissolves when in contact with even slightly acidic rain, molding the hoodoos into the funky shapes you see within the park.

White Pocket in the house! There’s some late-season pools of water hanging around making for some sweet reflection shots when the wind cooperates. Did you know triops eggs (the critter swimming in the design) can stay dormant in dried-up pools for DECADES before re-animating when sufficient water arrives?! 🤯 Snag White Pocket magnets and stickers on the website (link in bio)!
