As Jim & Roxie’s Little Mercantile continues to grow, we want to keep being as open and transparent with our customers as possible.

One thing people sometimes wonder about is Best By dates. These are quality dates — not expiration dates. Many perfectly good foods are still safe and enjoyable after the Best By date when stored properly.

In nearly two years, we’ve only had one concern brought to us, and we worked to make it right right away. That’s because taking care of our customers matters deeply to us.

Our goal has always been simple:

🌻❤️ THAT’S A WRAP FOR PICTURE POSTS! ❤️🌻

Alright, friends — that’s the end of our picture posts for now! We may sneak a few more in later, but for the most part we’re calling it because tomorrow…

🦉🚗💨 HOOTIE IS SENDING US ON A SOURCING MISSION! 💨🚗🦉

Apparently Hootie took one look around the Mercantile, checked Mother Hubbard’s cupboards, and decided things were getting a little TOO bare around here! 😂🦉 So tomorrow, Jim and I are hitting the road and going hunting for some GOOD STUFF!

We haven’t been able to do our normal sourcing for the past couple of weeks because my knee decided it had other plans.

But I have a wonderful update! ❤️

My knee is doing SO MUCH BETTER! Yesterday during therapy, I had two dry needles placed in my leg and connected to a machine that gently stimulated the muscles. The difference afterward was amazing! The swelling and fluid around my knee reduced by at least 50% — possibly even more! 🙌❤️ It isn’t completely gone, but what a difference!

I’ve also been given a list of exercises to do every day to help get that tight glute to settle down, which in turn should help my kneecap settle back down where it belongs — and it is helping!

And we found a recumbent bike on Marketplace to help me keep those knees moving! 🚲❤️ So between the therapy, my daily exercises, and getting some gentle movement in on the bike, I’m finally feeling like things are moving in the right direction — and I am SO thankful!

And I have to give a HUGE thank-you to my Superman, Jim. ❤️ When I need to be down and give my body a chance to recover, he doesn’t hesitate. He steps up, takes charge, picks up whatever I can’t do, and keeps everything moving. He has carried more than his share these past couple of weeks without missing a beat, and I am so incredibly thankful for that man of mine. ❤️🦸‍♂️

Thank you so much to everyone who has prayed for me, checked on me, and encouraged me along the way. I am incredibly thankful for every prayer. God is good! ❤️🙏

So tomorrow, there will be NO SATURDAY PICTURE POSTS. Life happened this week, our schedule got turned upside down, and sometimes you just have to roll with it!

Instead, Jim and I will be on the road, Hootie will be supervising from afar 🦉😂, and hopefully we’ll come home with a vehicle packed full and Mother Hubbard’s cupboards looking a whole lot less bare!
