Happy to our Jacksonville community! 💙
September 4th is a meaningful date across Duval County, but for Goodwill Industries of North Florida, it marks a pivotal moment in our mission to remove barriers to employment.
Two years ago on 904 Day, we officially cut the ribbon on The Corner at Debs Store in Jacksonville’s Historic Eastside. One year ago today, we gathered to celebrate its 1st anniversary. Today, we reflect on how this landmark initiative continues to transform access and opportunity in our city.
When Goodwill expanded its focus to tackle food insecurity alongside workforce training, we knew we couldn’t do it alone. The Corner at Debs Store brought fresh produce and essential groceries back to a neighborhood that hadn’t had access to fresh foods since 2011.
Beyond fresh groceries on the main floor, the second floor serves as a complete community resource hub featuring:
👉 Goodwill’s GoodCareers Center: Offering no-cost, full-service job search assistance and career development.
👉 VyStar Credit Union Financial Fitness Center: Providing accessible financial literacy, account guidance, and counseling.
👉 AT&T Connected Learning Center: Free high-speed internet, computers, and digital literacy resources to help bridge the digital divide.
Building a healthier, more equitable local economy takes true collaboration. We want to extend our thanks to the Debs family, our incredible co-creators, funders, and partners who helped make this vision a reality.
Thank you for believing in the power of local partnerships. Happy 904 Day!
