JACKSON, MS — LET’S TAKE IT BACK TO THE ’80s! 📼✨

There was something different about Jackson in the ’80s. The clothes were louder, the hair was bigger, the music had soul, and going out meant you came dressed to be seen.

Picture the leather jackets, Adidas tracksuits, acid-wash denim, gold chains, oversized earrings, Kangol hats, high-top sneakers and fresh cuts. Ladies were rocking Jheri curls, finger waves, big curls, bold makeup and bright colors, while the fellas stepped out with fades, curls, shades and enough confidence to own the room.

And the soundtrack? Prince. Michael Jackson. New Edition. Luther Vandross. Anita Baker. Run-D.M.C. The Gap Band. Cameo. Zapp. And because this was Mississippi, you couldn’t forget the blues and Southern soul. Jackson had its own musical identity: Malaco Records became a major force in soul-blues during the early ’80s, while places such as the Subway Lounge carried Jackson’s late-night blues tradition.

Now imagine bringing that energy back—but DCC style.
