Proud to announce that Well Said Media will be hosting this original collection of oil on canvas paintings that I had the privilege and honor of personally commissioning and transporting from Bali, Indonesia. These works will be on display all month as part of Downtown Ithaca Gallery Night.
The collection was created by Ida Bagus Made, known as "Gus Adik," was born on August 21, 1987, in Tabanan, Bali. From an early age, he demonstrated a natural talent for art, attending Saraswati School in Tabanan, where he won an award in a Jakarta painting competition celebrating Heroes' Day. His artistic journey continued at SMP 2 Tabanan, where he earned second place in an inter-school painting competition, further solidifying his passion for the arts. After graduating in 2005, Gus Adik pursued his formal art education at the Indonesian Art Faculty in Denpasar, where he honed his skills and deepened his understanding of traditional and contemporary Balinese art. He graduated in 2011 and quickly became an active participant in the local art scene, exhibiting his works in various galleries until 2013. Since then, Gus Adik has dedicated himself entirely to his craft, evolving his style and gaining recognition as a painter. His works reflect a deep connection to his cultural roots while also exploring new artistic expressions, making him a notable figure in the contemporary Balinese art community. Gus Adik continues to create and inspire, contributing to the rich tapestry of Indonesian art. He is a featured artist of family owned Marlon Art Studio in Kuta, Bali, Indonesia.
These abstract works have a vibrant and bold interpretation of beauty and the expression of emotions. Exploring the interplay between simplicity and complexity, they create a visual dialogue between delicate features and bold, expressive strokes. We hope you enjoy seeing these large and enchanting works of art on our walls as much as we do! Stop by our studio next to the Ink Shop in the CSMA building.
