Sparrow's Wine Legend After 23 years in business, David Sparrow sold Sparrow's Wine Legend in January 2020. The new owner operates under the name The Falls Wine Room.

Owner David Sparrow is constantly seeking interesting products to offer at attractive prices. We offer outstanding values in wines from Spain, South America, Italy, and more. Many products are priced at $12 or below, with extensive offerings in the $15-$30

range. (And if you're looking to splurge, we have some pricier bottles from all regions of the world.) We always enjoy helping customers select cases of wine, too, and offer a 15% discount (solid or mixed cases). The Italian collection is David's special interest, and contains many unique products. And don't forget that we also sell spirits!

Thank you to all of our customers for your support over the last 23 years. We have enjoyed serving you! As of January 13, 2020, we have ceased operation, and today have sold the business. We hope to see you elsewhere in Ithaca in the coming months and years! David will continue to receive email at [email protected].

Thank you to everyone who came by to make our last weekend so special! We will officially close on Monday atl 5:00, so stop by before that if you can. The shop will be closed for a couple of days for the new owner to get ready to open (with a new name, so this page won't pertain). If we don't see you on Monday, we'll see you around town!

Sparrow's final weekend is coming up! Yes, in the final month of our 23rd year of business, Sparrow’s Wine Legend is celebrating its last weekend in operation. David has sold the shop, and the transition will occur next week.

In celebration and in closing, we’ll be offering deeper than usual discounts on most wines, beginning at 5:00 on Friday, January 10. (Note that we’ll be closed for a few hours Friday afternoon.)

Stop by over the weekend for great deals, or just to say “so long, for now.” In addition to wines, we still have a good selection of single-malt Scotches; get them now to avoid the looming tariffs.

We’ll have acoustic guitar entertainment at 4:00 on Saturday (Brazilian jazz) and Sunday (pre-1945 blues and popular tunes). And there just may be some wine-tasting going on from time to time, too.

We appreciate your business over the years and hope we’ll get to see you in the coming days.
