Wow!!!! That's all I can say! I came in off the mountain and walked through the restaurant and Wow! Chef and his staff are preparing for tomorrow's launch of our new dinner menu. Wow! The aroma is unbelievable. From Braised Bison Short Ribs to Grilled Whitetail Backstrap to Maple Glazed Salmon to Fresh Walleye to New York Strip and several dishes in between. Wow! All the fresh ingredients from Wild Rice to beet mashed potatoes to fresh squash and the list goes on and on! Pics tomorrow! The restaurant opens tomorrow at 11 and the dinner menu starts at 4pm. As always our Friday Fish Fry is available for $10.99. Our Whitefish is brought in fresh right off the boat from Joe Newago Fisheries.

Introducing our New Head Chef! We are pleased to introduce to you Head Chef Pete Halfaday!

"I am Peter Halfaday Jr., a member of the Bad River Tribe of Lake Superior Chippewa residing in Odanah, Wisconsin. As the newly appointed Head Chef at Whitecap Mountain Resort, I specialize in Indigenous Cuisine and Food Sovereignty, complimented by expertise in diverse cooking styles. I plan to integrate indigineous ingredients into our menu gradually for your dining enjoyment".

Chef Pete most recently worked at MiiJim in Lapointe on Madeline Island. Chef Pete was a Sous Chef to two James Beard Award nominees and Miijim was recently voted #3 in the U.S. for Indigenous Cuisine. Chef brings with him Chandler Stone who works as his right hand in the Whitecap kitchen. Working alongside Chef and Chandler, are Dan Schulze and Peyton Pertile along with our waitstaff and bartenders. We are excited for the current changes to our menu and our new hours. The WC restaurant is open Wednesday - Thursday from 11 am - 8pm, Friday and Saturday from 11 am - 9pm and Sunday from 11 am - 8 pm. Of course the bar is open later. Come ski season, the restaurant/bar will be open 7 days a week. Next week Chef will be introducing our new dinner menu which will include Bison Burgers, Elk/Whitetail backstrap, Salmon, Walleye, Chicken Piccata, Pork Roulade and some steak choices. We try and source all of our ingredients fresh and locally from our meats to our pizza toppings.

CAUTION on TRAIL 77 IN PENCE: On Thursday, October 3 & Friday, October 4 we will be hosting the Log A Load for Kids event at the Pence baseball field adjacent to Trail 77 in Pence across from Do Drop In. The trail will be open but there will be measures in place to slow down the ATV/UTV traffic.
