It was an incredible loss for Clark Hulet's home (our cottage) yesterday. From the first wisps of smoke to the time it was engulfed in fire was only 10-15 minutes, it goes that fast. Fortunately, everyone got out and was safe. We would like to give a special thank you to all 5 fire districts and crew (mostly volunteers) who responded, and apologize for any names we might have missed: Fire Chief Dave Judd, Deputy Jim Mix, Tina Murphy, Navin Hurley (Humptulips, District 17); Fire Chief Matthews, Capt. Mike Toy, Mark Pauley, Doug Tosland (Wishkah, District 10); Fire Chief Spradlin and his crew (N. Hoquiam, District 6); Fire Chief Beasly and crew (Quinault, District 4); Fire Chief Stephanie, Marshall Reed, Anthony Chirlin (Copalis, District 7); neighbors Stuart Lapinski Jr, Kurt Loris, Richard(?) Walker Rd; and GH PUD, Derek and crew. A special thanks of appreciation for everyone who was here and helped with the situation. Sincerely, John Craig, Leslie Devones, Clark Hulet.

***Oakley Carlson investigation***

Detectives investigating the disappearance of five year old Oakley Carlson discovered information that the parents Andrew Carlson and Jordan Bowers have not been providing medication prescribed to their other daughter who is six years old as required by her doctor. The medicine has been withheld for approximately 15 months. The medication is necessary for her physical wellbeing and puts her at risk for physical impairment and could eventually result in death. This information was provided to the Grays Harbor County Prosecutors Office. The Prosecutors charged Carlson and Bowers into Grays Harbor District Court with the charge of Abandonment of a Dependent Person in the Second Degree, RCW 9A.42.070 a class C felony. This is the only charge the suspects are being held on at this time. The bail was set at $150,000 for both suspects.

Detectives are still actively investigating the unexplained disappearance of Oakley Carlson. Investigators believe the disappearance is criminal in nature and will continue the search for Oakley Carlson. Detectives are seeking any information from anyone who may have seen Oakley Carlson alive since January 27th 2021. With all of the attention this investigation has gathered they have not received any information that Oakley has been seen alive since that date. The parents claim the last time they saw Oakley alive was November 30th, 2021. The parents have given no indication that Oakley is in the care of an adult and cannot account for her whereabouts or condition. Investigators believe Oakley would be unable to survive on her own for this length of time. If you have any information that may be helpful in this case please contact detectives. Dispatch non-emergency number 360-533-8765. Detective Sgt. Paul Logan 360-964-1729 or email [email protected].
