Our Marketing & Education Manager is guiding us through five French regions—a beautifully curated lineup showcasing some of the most exciting wines on our shelves.

🍇 Loire Valley – Domaine Matignon Sauvignon Blanc 2023
Dry, crisp, and expressive with citrus and broom flower notes. From a 3rd-generation family estate in Anjou. Stainless steel fermentation. 100% Sauvignon Blanc.

🍒 Alsace – Domaine Wunsch & Mann “Equus” Pinot Noir Grand Cru Hengst 2022
Aromatic and structured Pinot Noir aged 12 months in French oak. Organically farmed, from the Grand Cru Hengst vineyard. Complex, earthy, and age-worthy.

🌊 Chablis (Burgundy) – Domaine Vrignaud Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume 2021 ($$)
100% Chardonnay, fermented with native yeast and aged on lees. Mineral-driven, full-bodied, with citrus and ripe fruit. Premier Cru excellence.

🍂 Savoie – Fabien Trosset Hors Piste Arbin Mondeuse 2023
100% Mondeuse from 35-year-old vines on red clay. Hand-harvested and naturally fermented with 50% whole cluster. Aged in stainless steel for 8–12 months. Fresh, spicy, and vibrant with red and black fruit and elegant tannins. No added sulfur.

🌿 Jura – Caves Jean Bourdy Vin Jaune 2015 ($$$)
100% Savagnin aged 6+ years under flor. Nutty, bright, powerful, and biodynamic. One of the rarest and most age-worthy styles in the world.

Chardonnay & Sémillon • Southwest France
Golden and aromatic – think peach, honey, toasted almond. Silky but bright.

3️⃣ La Dévire 2023 – Fabien Trosset
Altesse • Savoie
Alpine freshness, wildflowers, and a whisper of almond. Crisp, structured, and high altitude.

4️⃣ Régnié “Perle de la Ronze”
Gamay • Beaujolais
Juicy red berries, plum, a touch of spice. Fresh, light, and lively.

5️⃣ Château Saint-Saturnin 2010
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cab Franc • Médoc
Elegant and earthy with notes of cassis and cherry. Classic Left Bank Bordeaux.

I'm happy to announce a new partnership with Matt Barker. French Country Wines is going full circle! Matt is the original owner's, Tim Smith, son-in-law. After a successful professional carrier, Matt found his passion for wine and completed his WSET3. He will be responsible for the operations of our retail store and on going Saturday tastings. Excited to share his love of wines, he will be introducing wine classes, seminars, and other wine related activities to our small shop.

"You don’t want to miss this Saturday’s wine tasting. We will be opening a 2020 Champagne from Pascal Walczak, Belle Insolite. It’s an unusual blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Meunier with a crisp freshness and minerality and with notes of floral and yellow fruit. It really surprises you. And, it pairs well with seafood and quite frankly any celebratory occasion. This is quickly becoming my favorite Champagne. You don’t want to miss tasting it!"
