Even if it’s just a chair nearby—checking in shows respect and keeps the energy relaxed, not awkward.

Art of the Ash - Tip #13: Light It Like a Pro 🔥

Lighting a cigar isn’t like lighting a cigarette—it’s a ritual, and done right, it sets the tone for your entire smoke.

Here’s how to do it with precision and style:
1️⃣ Use the right flame – A torch lighter or long wooden match is ideal. Avoid Zippos or candles—they can mess with the flavor.
2️⃣ Toast the foot first – Hold the flame just below the cigar (don’t touch it), and slowly rotate to evenly toast the end until it starts to glow.
3️⃣ Then draw and rotate – Once it’s evenly toasted, bring it to your mouth and gently draw in while continuing to rotate. You want a full, even cherry before settling in.

The goal? No rushing, no charring, no uneven burns. Just a smooth, even light that respects the leaf.

Because a great smoke starts with a proper spark. 🔥💨

Art of the Ash - Tip #12: Don’t Sniff the Cigar in the Humidor 🔥

We get it—you want to know how it smells. But bringing a cigar right up to your nose while shopping in the humidor?
That’s a hard no.
It’s a sanitary issue and considered bad form. Others will be handling and possibly purchasing that same cigar.
Instead, gently hold it near your nose (without touching your face), or better yet, ask a staff member for guidance.
The aroma from the foot (the open end) is often enough to give you a good idea of the profile, sniff all you want…only after you’ve purchased it.

Let’s keep the humidor clean, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone.
