For travelers of Kansas Highways 77 and 56: Be aware we have winter weather rolling through.

Not much has changed over the past twelve hours in regards to snowfall totals. The area is still expecting significant snowfall totals mainly south of interstate 70 tonight and through much of the day Tuesday. Look for bitterly cold temperatures through the week as well.

Herington city officials are declaring a traffic emergency effective Monday, February 17, 2025, at 5:00pm, this traffic emergency will be in effect until Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 12:00pm. Herington City Ordinance states all vehicles parked on emergency snow routes must be removed within two hours after a traffic emergency has been announced. Please ensure vehicles are not parked on the following emergency snow routes: Main Street, Walnut Street, Broadway Street, Arnold Street, D Street, Trapp Street, Ash Street, and Helen Street.

Open regular hours. Kitchen closes at 10:30pm, main store at 11pm. We will reopen at 4am.

The lot has been salted several times throughout the day, leaving slush and ice as vehicles drive through. If you're not already traveling, please be safe and stay home. If you MUST get out in the ice, be prepared and GO SLOW!
