Dear Hebbardsville community:
First let me start by saying the last 7 years I’ve enjoyed getting to know you all better. The morning crew that I have that are nothing short of amazing. You all supported me from day one and you will never know how much I appreciate that.
That being said I had to come to the hard decision to step away from the store. Over the last 7 years so much has changed. There was Covid. A small business like this can’t ever recover from that time.
I have tried multiple things to help bring money into the store. First by staying open till 8:00. That worked amazing. But it only lasted 3 months. Then I was paying someone to be here for nothing. So I decided to try staying open till 8:00 just on Fridays. Again that was short lived.
Ive heard multiple suggestions from several on what I should do but everything I have tried doesn’t last.
Our plan was for one of the girls to take over the contract that I have, but that didn’t pan out either.
This decision was not made hastily,as I should have stepped away 2-3 yrs ago. But the fear of being a failure kept me from doing that. It took me almost losing my house for me to come to the decision that I have no choice.
I pray that someone will step in and want to buy the store and keep it open. The community needs it! I also pray that if someone does open it back up that the community will support them. It takes more than just a good day here and there to make it work and be successful. Ive tried to do different things to keep the community together. I hope everyone enjoyed those.
I hope everyone knows and understands just how hard I tried to make it successful. I hope to not hear or see nasty comments on what I should or shouldn’t have done. Until you are a small business owner you have NO CLUE what all it entails.
All this being said my last day here will be June 30th. If someone is interested in looking into buying the store and keeping it going for the community, reach out to me and I will give you the name and number of the person you need to contact.
