While enjoying the Bulliet Bourbon Experience at the Old Stitzel-Weller Distillery, I was surprised to see the only on site working cooperage while on "my bourbon trail". Although the cooper was not in it was certainly a treat to see first hand how whiskey barrels are made and repaired. These guys can turn out over 100 barrels each in a day. Our "Cigarman" Tyler can help you select a cigar to pair perfecty with any of the 3 Bulliets in stock at Fine Wine & Liquor Loft.

Woodford Reserve Distillery is unique for the most asthetically pleasing and imaculately kept up working areas. I am partial to copper which is a theme carried throughout the Woodford distillery from the guest center where we were greeted with a special gift to the most beautiful custom copper kettles. But the BEST part was the private bourbon tasting with Bill, our host. The Double Oaked Woodford was not super smokey as I imagined, it was complex and well rounded.
If you plan to visit Woodford be sure to call ahead and arrange a bourbon and food pairing as I do not plan to miss out on that experience on my next trip. Look for the Woodford Rye to come out soon which is equally as round and complex as the Double Oaked with a hint of spice at light 53% rye. Pair your favorite Woodford with one of our hand rolled ci**rs expertly chosen for you by Tyler, our cigar aficionado. I enjoyed mine with some bourbon chocolate. Who knew? CHOCOLATE ??
