Our big drink cooler is back to work and full of cold b**r, soda, dairy and meat products!

Currently our big drink cooler is on the blink due to an outside condenser fan war with snakes and mice. I really don't think there were any winners left standing.🥹🐍🐁

Beverages are cold, but not ice cold.

Please ask if you need any dairy, meat or sandwiches as those items have moved to coolers in the back.

The Hasty Post office electric has been restored and open for buisness. All mail has been brought over from Mcclave and can resume at Hasty. Hasty post office is open Monday- Friday 10am to 2pm and Saturday 10am to 12:30pm.

URGENT PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT: ARMED AND DANGEROUS FUGITIVE SEARCH UNDERWAY

Residents are urged to use extreme caution as law enforcement conducts an active search for a wanted man considered armed and dangerous.

A heavy law enforcement presence is reported along U.S. Highway 50 between County Road 5 and County Road 7, near North Love’s and the North Gateway Ponds area. Search efforts reportedly include K-9 units and drones.

Law enforcement is searching for a male suspect wanted in connection with a homicide.

The suspect is described as:

* Hispanic male
* Approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall
* Approximately 200 pounds
* Wearing a black sweatshirt with “Castle” on the sleeve
* Black and purple pants
* Black shoes

DO NOT APPROACH THE SUBJECT. HE IS CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS.

Residents in and around the affected area should lock all doors, secure vehicles and remain alert. Avoid the search area if possible and do not interfere with law enforcement operations.

The Kiowa County Independent is also hearing reports that Walmart and possibly other Lamar businesses have closed or temporarily suspended operations until further notice as the search continues. Those closures have not all been independently confirmed, and residents should check directly with individual businesses before traveling.

Anyone who sees an individual matching the description should immediately call 911 and provide the location and direction of travel. Do not attempt to confront, follow or detain the individual.

This is an active and developing situation. Information may change quickly as additional details are released by law enforcement.

HEAR YE! HEAR YE!

The Hasty post office on 8/13/26 was impacted by the storm causing down power lines and and damage to the buildings electrical. Until further notice all p.o box mail and packages can be picked up at the Mcclave post office. The Mcclave post office is open Monday- Friday 730 to 11:30 and Saturday 7:30 to 11:00 am. Route mail will still be delivered daily. Sorry for the inconvenience and we are working hard to restore power at this time.
