We are excited to announce we have two different winemakers coming into town this month.

From Woodinville, Washington, we have Ambassador Winery coming to town on July 17 at 6 PM. Ambassador produces red wine from Red Mountain in Washington. The fertile terroir formed thousands of years ago through glacial movement creates a very coveted area to grow grapes. Taste through five award-winning red wines that will be paired with five separate cheeses to enhance the experience. Learn about the region the winery and the pairings while enjoying these new wines to our shop. The cost is $40 for the tasting, lecture and cheese pairing.

On July 30 at 6:00pm, we have Terre Rouge and Easton Winery visiting us from Plymouth, California. Nestled inland, close to the Sierra Nevada mountains we get a unique climate for a California winery. No ocean influences, higher elevation and warmer days create unique, red and white wines. Terre Rouge specializes in Rhône vitals while Easton produces zinfidels. We will taste five wines paired with cheese for $45 per person. Learn about this very unique wine region and discover  familiar varietals and a new and exciting way.

We will close at 4:00pm on July 4th so that the staff can enjoy the holiday with friends and family. But will open at our regular time on Saturday, July 5th and maintain regular hours the rest of the holiday weekend.

Good morning cheese lovers! Not only is today the day we will celebrate our belated 1-year anniversary, but it is also National Cheese Day! I’d like to think I was that smart in selecting this date to celebrate our anniversary, but it was just a fantastic coincidence. (Thank you Noah for bringing it to my attention).

It’s a (belated) celebration! 🥂 Happy 1 year anniversary to us!

Join us anytime Wednesday, June 4th for special wines at $5 a glass, cheese samples and check out some of our newest arrivals in cheese, wine and specialty foods. (We now have our own proprietary chocolate bars and truffles!).

We will have samples of wine at 2:00, 4:00 and 6:00. These wines are not offered on our normal glass list so it is a great opportunity to try something new.

We appreciate all the support and encouragement from the community in our first year. Just wait and see all the new and delicious things that await you in year 2! (Like the tasting vault…)

A bit under the radar, a bit unceremonious and a bit quiet, but cheers to the 1 year anniversary of The Cheese and Wine Shop!

With farming obligations right now we will celebrate this momentous occasion at a later date, but wanted to highlight the achievement.

Barolo tasting!!

Now that I have your attention, I am excited to announce that we will have Chiara Drocco from Castina Adelaide Vineyard in the Barolo region of Italy visiting us here at The Cheese and Wine Shop! Chiara is the youngest(!!) Barolo winemaker in all of Italy, and she follows in her grandfathers footsteps.

Barolo is widely considered the "king of Italian wines." Made from the Nebbiolo grape, Barolo can only be produced in a very specific region of Piedmont and undergoes strict regulations regarding origin and aging to be called a Barolo. For those who are Italian wine enthusiasts you know how special this wine is. And for those who want to learn more, this is an amazing opportunity to taste Barolos, which normally are not offered by the glass or on a tasting menu.

We invite you to join us along with Chiara to taste through her Barolos and one Nascetta (white wine). Not only will you experience the wines, but you will also get to hear from and interact directly with the winemaker, Chiara. We will pair her wines with cheeses so you can get the full experience of the amazing Barolos, our delicious cheeses and how they compliment each other.
