EDIT: Our dogs are home safe!
Last night, our hearts shattered as we stood helplessly watching our barn and outbuilding burn to the ground. There was nothing we could do but stand there and watch.
By the grace of God, our family and our home are safe. Just yesterday, we had moved a couple of litters of piglets and 100 meat birds out of the barn. We are so incredibly thankful for that timing and the lives that were spared.
But the loss is devastating. Our utility vehicles melted. Our hay, tools, feed, and every piece of our milking equipment are gone. So much of what we’ve worked so hard to build was lost in a matter of hours.
Right now, we have two immediate needs:
* Milking equipment: If anyone has equipment we could borrow TODAY so we can get our cows milked, we would be incredibly grateful.
* Our missing dogs: Our two Great Pyrenees took off when things got really bad. One is a gray female, and the other is white with black markings. If you see either of them, please contact us.
I know God has a reason for all things, even when we can’t begin to understand it. And I know He always provides. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt. Our hearts are heavy, our children are shaken, and the reality of everything we have lost is overwhelming.
There is so much to clean up, so much to replace, and so much uncertainty about what comes next. But we are holding tightly to our faith and reminding ourselves that the things that matter most are still here.
We ask for your prayers as we navigate the days ahead, especially for our children as they process the fear of what they witnessed.
And to every first responder who showed up last night and worked tirelessly to help us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will never forget the effort, courage, and kindness you showed our family.
We are heartbroken, but we are grateful. And we trust that God will carry us through this, one day at a time.
