We hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend despite all the rain. As we get back into the week, we want to take a moment to address recent concerns regarding card security and reassure our customers that we take this matter very seriously.
After being made aware of a possible fraud concern, we immediately reviewed our equipment and contacted our credit card processor. Our processor confirmed that there is no indication of a security breach, hacking, or compromise within our system.
About two years ago, we installed a new POS/card processing system with the highest security protections available. We also installed cameras at each of our pumps for added monitoring and customer protection.
In addition, we personally checked the hardware on every pump again today, as we routinely do every day, and found no skimmers, no tampering, and no signs of anything suspicious.
We understand that when fraudulent charges appear after using a card, it is natural to look back at the most recent purchase. However, card information can sometimes be compromised days or even weeks earlier at another business, ATM, gas pump, website, or online transaction before the fraud actually appears.
Customer safety and trust are extremely important to us. We will continue monitoring our equipment closely, checking our pumps daily, and working with our processor to ensure everything remains secure.
As always, we encourage customers to monitor their bank accounts and contact their bank immediately if they notice any suspicious activity.
