We get a lot of people in looking for "gluten free" spirits. I found a great article on Celiac.com that might help clear up some confusion.

"Unless gluten is added after distillation, all distilled alcohols are free of gluten. However, US labeling laws prohibit beverages that use cereal grains at any point in the manufacturing process from advertising themselves as 'gluten-free.'
So, when you do see a 'gluten-free' label on a distilled beverage, it means that no gluten ingredients have been used at any point in the production process."

We were sad to learn this week of the closure of the Millwood liquor store. Bud and Pat Kirihara have been our associates and friends for many years and to see them close their business after pouring their life savings into it breaks our hearts. It is just another sad example of how big business and government are sucking the life out of small businesses all over the state and country. When financial institutions are too big to fail, when the big box stores are allowed to keep their employees in poverty by cutting hours and benefits, this is what happens. The corporations and executives who already have all the wealth get all the breaks while people we know, neighbors, friends and family who own and work at small businesses are struggling to survive.
We want to take this opportunity to again thank our loyal customers. We want to tell Bud and Pat's customers that if they come to our store we will do our best to fill the hole their closure has left by offering the same great customer service and selection they did. We want to remind everyone that while it may cost a few dollars more, shopping at small businesses, hiring independent landscapers, mechanics, contractors, repairmen and handymen, makes all the difference in the world.
