June Updates
Happy June Winestein’s Members!
We hope you enjoyed June’s member tasting! For those of you waiting on Mirabeaux Rose and Bonny Doon Le Cigare and/or David Bruce Petite Sirah, they are now all in stock and ready for pick up! THANK YOU for your patience as we waited to get the David Bruce Petite Sirah back in stock.
We want to introduce our summer “intern,” Jacob! Jacob will be a junior in college this year. He is the son of a dear friend and is very interested in wine. Come in to meet Jacob and put his newfound knowledge to the test! Hopefully everyone has also met Tanya, our newest employee.
We’re wrapping up the month with a wine-focused meditation event today! Saturday is filled with fun games! We’re also welcoming the City of Colleyville for another Winestein’s ribbon cutting on Thursday, June 25.
Melanie Brannan is coming back for another painting and wine session celebrating Americana. And for those of you who love cookies, we have a cookie decorating and wine event coming up. We hope to see you soon for more great times!

Wine Knowledge - Rioja DOCa, Spain
Rioja, in northern Spain along the Ebro River, is one of the country’s most historic and celebrated wine regions, officially divided into three subregions: Rioja Alta, known for high‑altitude vineyards and elegant, age‑worthy wines; Rioja Alavesa, prized for limestone soils and vibrant, fruit‑driven styles; and Rioja Oriental, the warmest zone, producing riper, fuller‑bodied wines.
The region is mainly planted to Tempranillo, supported by Garnacha, Graciano, and Mazuelo for reds, and Viura, Tempranillo Blanco, and Garnacha Blanca for whites, yielding everything from crisp rosados to long‑aged Gran Reservas.
Rioja’s cuisine naturally pairs with its wines—think lamb, chorizo, jamón, roasted vegetables, and sheep’s‑milk cheeses—reflecting a tradition that dates back centuries, with documented winemaking since at least the 12th century and formal recognition as Spain’s first DOCa in the late 20th century.
Featured Wine - Jax Y3 Taureau Napa Valley, CA - Tasting Room Price: $44
Back by popular demand! Jax Y3 Taureau is a bold, modern Napa Valley red blend that overdelivers for the price—lush blackberry, black cherry, cocoa, and mocha wrapped in velvety tannins and warm spice. One of Winestein’s guests favorites, the blend (majority Cabernet finished with Merlot and Syrah) is crafted for richness and approachability, giving you that “big Napa” flavor profile without the big‑ticket price. It’s smooth, generous, and instantly crowdpleasing.
On the palate, Taureau is plush and layered, with dark fruit, chocolate, espresso, and a long, warming finish that pairs beautifully with hearty dishes. It shines with ribeye, short rib ragu, BBQ pork, mushroom flatbreads, and aged cheddar—anything that loves bold fruit and supple structure. Pick up a bottle now for your next steak off the grill or enjoy in the tasting room with our famous cheeseball. Yum!
