On Friday I attended the Nashville GOP 7th Congressional District Forum and made my decision to support Mason Foley for Congress.

While the location is better known today as CabaRay, to me it's the midpoint between the house I grew up in on Charlotte Pike and my grandparent's farm on River Road.

Grannie and Granddad were the statewide chairs of Farmers for Reagan - and as a child any orphaned calves from Humphreys County would be brought to the house and bottle fed for a few weeks before going back to the herd. River Road is where I learned to drive on Granddad’s tractor. It is a place of memories of touching the greatest generation - a generation of deep faith, courage, patriotism, and purpose.

Mason Foley’s courage of conviction was right at home on River Road. As a college president he was taken to the White House with Charlie Kirk. He has spoken up for the voices of conservatives in places where we aren't always welcome (something Nashville Republicans can appreciate).

Over the last few weeks I've attended several forums and listened to the nearly indistinguishable ideas espoused. At the Dickson forum, Mason was the only candidate I heard talk about building a strong constituent services operation for the district - which we need our next congressman to do! I like his background with Main Street Health - where he's spent more time on the front lines solving actual problems. But above all - it is his courage, his pride in our community, and the promise his generation brings - that has earned my vote.

Not many people will vote in this election - I hope you will choose to exercise this great gift preserved by my grandfather and my husband and so many others who have served in our nation's armed forces - and when you do - I hope you'll join me in voting for Mason Foley.
