🍷THIRSTY THURSDAY 7/ 24- Bet the Farm Winery

is a women-owned, boutique winery located on the west side of Cayuga Lake. Husband and wife team Kit and Nancy have both lived many lives before finding their way to hospitality and ultimately winemaking, with Kit starting off his career in film and photography labs and Nancy in academia and later bovine genetics research. Over the past few decades, they have been dedicated to producing balanced, fine wines in a tranquil environment 🏡

Early on in their business planning, in a moment of overwhelm, Nancy expressed her concern: "I'm not sure this is going to work," Kit assured her "don't worry, I'll help you, you can bet the farm on it." Thus, Bet the Farm Winery was born ✨

We are switching it up just a bit this week with a SATURDAY (7/12) in-store tasting from 2pm-4pm.

Marc Adelman will be here representing , a NY-based importer and distributor that focuses on wineries that have a positive impact on the world, in their communities, and on the environment. This week we will be exploring wines from South Africa to Uruguay.

was built inside a hill, in the deep red, sandy soils of Cerro Chapeu on the border of Uruguay and Brazil, to optimize resources and use gravity for low-input winemaking techniques. Their philosophy is one of balance with the environment. The winery donates $1 of each bottle sold of Carbonica and Naranja (featured on Saturday) to Amba, a nonprofit committed to preserving and regenerating biodiversity in Uruguay.

is a South African producer with a long established record of social and environmental responsibility. In 2009, they gave 26% of the company to its employees as part of the largest land reform transaction in the history of the South African wine industry. For decades, they have had some of the most sought-after fruit in South Africa. In 2010 they reopened their 270-year-old winery to begin to produce their own wines again under respected winemaker Corlea Fourie.

Frank Lloyd Wright coined the term “Usonia” to refer to his vision of a fully democratic American landscape, unbound by Old World conventions... In that spirit, winemakers Alex and Julia Alvarez seek to explore and expand the diverse possibilities for winemaking in New York State.

“The Flower and the 🐝 “ by is a powerful, volutptuous spanish white made from the indigenous Treidaxura. Juicy nectarine and honeysuckle with chalky minerality- one of my personal faves

Elisabetta Foradori is the Queen 👸 of Teroldego, an Italian native grape which sees short maceration and concrete aging, which makes for a light, wonderfully aromatic summer red that does not lack in complexity.

Lipez de Heredia needs no introduction, but you should know it’s one of the oldest producers of Rioja 🍇 in the region. This 2013 vintage Bosconis Reserva Tempranillo is perfectly evolved, with deliciously ripe stewed fruit and earthy leather and to***co.
