Today is a marker. 70 odds years ago, John Askins open his liquor store in Garnett. The family of John, took over the business I believe in 1979. Today, the sun sets for the last time as Askins Beller Liquor Store closes it doors. What a run! What a special family! What a community strong hold!

Today, oh today.....we lay to rest a very special lady. She touched many lives in the Garnett community! She will be truly missed! God speed Carol. Until the time comes we meet again.

It is with a sad heart, I am informing Askins Beller Liquor Store family that the matriarch of the store has lost her battle with cancer. Carol passed through this earthly life to one without pain! She is now with Pat, her sister, her parents her cousins and a multiple others. She is most likely in conversations with KU basketball team members that have crossed over from this life. I am positive she is winning all those conversations!!!!

Carol's visitation is scheduled at 6 to 8 Tuesday May 2nd at Feuerborn's Funeral home.

Service is scheduled for Wednesday May 3rd at Feuerborn's, Garnett, at.10:30 with the burial at the Garnett Cemetery afterwards.

With the beginning of a new year, the store is switching to what we call "winter hours".

Opening at 9am and closing at 8pm Monday through Saturday.

Sunday hours will be 12 noon to 5pm.
