Exciting news to share!
We were chosen to be a part of a new documentary airing on NBC Saturday morning in August titled
"The Great American Journey" Hosted by Kelsey Grammar. Be sure to watch as filming was done on location with some of our 2026 thru hikers.
We have had alot of publicity in the past but not national coverage like this. We feel fortunate to be a part of this and to be part our trail community.
The "Great American Journey" represents a celebration of the nation’s history, culture, and landscapes.
“The Great American Journey,” hosted by actor and producer Kelsey Grammer, will premiere on Aug. 22, in honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States independence. “The Great American Journey” will air weekend mornings on NBC’s “The More You Know” and be available to stream on Peacock and NBC.com.

Per the official description, “The Great American Journey” will “travel the country celebrating American history and exploring the people, places and ideas that have shaped our nation. The series will examine how the American story continues to evolve and the role each generation plays in defining what comes next.”

Storm damage update.
The general store is still without power and we will remain closed until power is restored. The line crews are working everyday to get us back up and running as quickly as they can. This is not a easy task considering the amount of repair to be done. We appreciate your patience and will update our reopening when it is repaired

Our area has suffered from severe storm damage and power outages therefore the Park and general store will remain closed until power is restored and storm damage is repaired.
