🍷 SUNDAY SIP WITH ALECIA | 12–5 PM
Today we’re getting a little nerdy and heading to Austria 🇦🇹 for a taste of Gruber Röschitz Grüner Veltliner “Green! Pepp.”
Grüner Veltliner is the grape to know in Austria, and this one comes from Röschitz in the northern Weinviertel, where the landscape starts bumping up against the Manhartsberg and things get seriously cool — literally.
The Gruber family’s vines grow among ancient granite and primary-rock soils, with warm days followed by chilly nights. That big day-to-night temperature swing helps the grapes hang onto their acidity while developing plenty of flavor — exactly what we want in a snappy, refreshing Grüner.
And the producer is just as fun to nerd out on. Gruber Röschitz is a third-generation family w**ery run by siblings Maria, Ewald & Christian Gruber, who have been farming organically since 2013. Their goal is pretty simple: let the vineyards do the talking and make authentic Austrian w**es with freshness, energy and a sense of place.
In your glass, think crisp orchard fruit, citrus, herbs, bright acidity and that classic Grüner peppery snap. 🌿🍋🍏
Basically: mountains, granite, cool nights, organic farming + Grüner Veltliner = a very good Sunday.
Come geek out over Austrian w**e with Alecia from 12–5 PM and find out why Grüner deserves a permanent spot in your fridge.
