LET’S GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE, NOT BLAME WHERE IT DOESN’T BELONG!

A tornado came through our community, and it happened FAST. Mother Nature doesn’t give us a schedule, and emergencies don’t always come with enough warning.

But one thing is certain: Our first responders SHOWED UP!

These men and women stepped up, put themselves in harm’s way, and did what they could to help our community during a frightening and unpredictable situation.

Yet somehow, there are people looking for someone to blame.

Let’s be clear. Our first responders didn’t cause the tornado. They couldn’t stop it. And they dang sure can’t be everywhere at once.

We all have a personal responsibility to stay aware, prepare when possible, and protect ourselves and our families. We cannot place the entire burden of our safety on those who are already risking theirs to help us.

There’s a big difference between holding someone accountable and simply looking for someone to blame.

Instead of pointing fingers, how about we show some gratitude? The sirens went off! Check on your neighbors. Help those who suffered damage. Thank the people who dropped everything to respond.

Our first responders deserve our RESPECT, our SUPPORT, and our THANKS — not misplaced blame.

At the end of the day, we’re a community. Let’s act like one. 💙
