‼️ Public Service Announcement 📣
It’s a long one, but one that needs to be made:

Every now and then someone will make a post about Nowhere, and that will signal comments from people from all over the state and beyond. Always of mixed opinions.

Nowhere Bait Shop opened back in the 70s. We literally got our name because these new business owners realized they had landed themselves in “the middle of Nowhere”. 🤠

A lot of comments will say things like… “it’s just a bait shop”, “it’s nothing but a convenience store”, “it’s just a rink a d**k baitshop”, “it’s just an old store and like 2 people”. By the grace of God, that’s not true. 🙏🏼

Nowhere Bait Shop IS a convenience store. It IS a bait shop…but it’s so much more than that. Ask anyone that has spent anytime around here, and they’ll tell you this is where memories have been made! Fishing trips, camping trips with friends and family, someone’s first job, someone’s last job, the backdrop of a picture for someone’s great catch or big buck, epic boat days, and so much more!

This store in this little unincorporated town has been through a few hands. Hands of people that love this place, people that believe in this town, who are here to serve folks coming through on their lake adventures, a cold drink after hauling hay, a good talk and laugh with the clerk etc.

It’s not easy owning a small business these days. It’s a small town: foot traffic is slow most of the time. Inflation rears its ugly head year after year. But even through the hard times, we keep pushing! Because a lot more happens here than selling bait and gasoline!

So when you hear about Nowhere, Oklahoma we hope you think about hard work, persistence, hopes and dreams, memories being made, great people, summer events, live music, great food, and a real life community! A community that invites you and welcomes you to get out of the city, take that day trip, come fishing, attend an event, visit our friends that own businesses around the lake, stop by for a photo op! We try to improve year after year so the stories about Nowhere will never stop! We are so much more than a Bait Shop! And we hope to see you soon!
