Our Story

We are located along the Lake Erie Wine Trail in Chautauqua County, NY. (about 40 miles south of Buffalo) Merritt Winery, founded in 1976 by William T. Merritt, is located in the largest grape growing region east of the Rockies and the largest Concord grape growing region in the world. The grapes and wines produced in this area rival the quality of premium vintages found throughout the world. Visitors are encouraged to stop by Merritt Estate Winery to tour our facilities and surrounding vineyards, and enjoy free year-round wine tasting in our Tasting Room. A complete selection of Merritt Estate wine is available for purchase at the winery or online. We are open all year, offering free tours and tastings. We are motor coach, tour bus and limo friendly. We also host 2 Festivals each year. 2019 will mark the 39th year for our popular Strawberry and Septemberfest celebrations, which are free to attend and are family friendly.
