🚨 AHVA Update: We’re Leading the Fight to Save H**p in Alabama! 🚨

A few days ago, we shared that AHVA would not lead litigation over the h**p bill. However, after extensive discussions with industry professionals and colleagues, and in response to an unwavering call for support from our community, we’ve reassessed and firmly believe that we are best positioned to head up this critical battle for our industry and community. 💪🌱

We are now accepting donations to fuel our litigation fund. Our goal is to raise $150,000 by Monday, enabling us to hire legal representation and file necessary actions before July 1st. These funds will be used exclusively for h**p litigation.

Important Information for Donors:
• Donations from consumers are not tax-deductible.
• Businesses can write off donations as business expenses, but not as charitable contributions.

Every dollar brings us closer to protecting the future of h**p in Alabama. We need YOU to stand with us. Who’s ready to help us save h**p in Alabama? 🙌

💚 Donate Now: Visit www.AHVA.us

Thank you for your unwavering support! Together, we can make a difference. 🌿

Make Your Voice Heard: Join AHVA’s Advocacy Day

As you enjoy your weekend or prepare for the week ahead, don’t forget to plan for AHVA’s Advocacy Day at the Alabama State House on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 9 AM to 3 PM.

The stakes couldn’t be higher. Our industry faces the potential loss of all smokeable products, leaving only edible products and drinks capped at 5mg per serving. On top of that, legislators want to impose a hefty tax, leaving consumers with weaker products that are more expensive.

Advocacy Day is your chance to meet directly with your local legislators and share how these changes would impact you and others in our community. This is a crucial opportunity to stand up for the products we rely on and ensure our voices are heard.

If we don’t show up and speak out, these changes could become a reality. Let’s come together, advocate for fair regulations, and protect access to these essential products.

See you at the State House on Tuesday!

🚨🚨🚨We need everyone to Email your House of Representatives member starting now until noon tomorrow and tell them to vote no on HB 8. Your rights to v**e are at risk of being gone. 🚨🚨

🚨 Call to Action: Protect Small Businesses and Fight for Sensible Regulation! 🚨

Tomorrow, Alabama HB8 will move to the House floor for a vote, and we need your voice to stop it!

This bill would cripple small, locally-owned v**e shops by requiring all v***r products—including those containing CBD—to be registered on the ENDS directory. This directory was specifically designed for ni****ne products, and expanding it to include all v***r products and CBD creates unnecessary red tape. Meanwhile, convenience stores remain unregulated and free to sell similar products with less oversight, doing nothing to enhance child safety.

HB8 unfairly targets responsible small businesses while ignoring meaningful ways to protect children from underage sales. True regulation should focus on moving these products to 21+ establishments where strict policies and accountability are already in place.

📢 We need your help to urge representatives to VOTE NO on HB8 tomorrow!
• Call your House representatives and tell them this bill hurts small businesses while failing to address real concerns.
• Email or write your representative and demand fair, thoughtful regulation that actually works to keep products out of children’s hands.

It’s time to stand with small businesses and advocate for legislation that is fair, effective, and focused on true solutions. Don’t let HB8 pass without a fight!

🗓 Act now—our future depends on it.

Donations and membership dues can be made at www.AHVA.us to help fund the fight!

🚨 THE FIGHT ISN’T OVER—WE NEED YOU NOW MORE THAN EVER! 🚨

This week, every h**p-related bill moved out of committee. Yesterday, HB445 (Rep. Whitt’s bill) passed the House floor. While we saw it coming and prepared for this moment, it doesn’t hurt any less. But let us be clear: we are not backing down.

🫵 To our industry members: We see you. We hear your concerns. We know you’re watching these bills and wondering what’s next. Rest assured—there is a plan. We’re showing up, taking action, and ensuring your voices are heard. We’ve engaged with key leaders and other industries, and we know their positions. Now, we’re fighting for your seat at the table.

📝Here’s where we need you:
Every supporter of this industry must act TODAY. Call your House and Senate representatives and tell them:
• Support the resolution from Rep. Gray and Sen. Stewart to create a Joint Study Commission. This ensures h**p businesses have a seat at the table to shape better policy through collaboration and education.
• Say NO to HB445 or any bill that bans products or blocks responsible 21+ businesses from operating.
• Support reasonable regulation—not overreach.

This fight is about more than just policies. It’s about protecting livelihoods, jobs, small businesses, and safe access. We’re not asking to be left alone—we’re asking to work together to build fair and effective solutions.

☎️ Now is the time. Make the call. Be heard. Let’s remind them that Alabama’s h**p and v**e industry deserves a seat at the table.

🚨 URGENT: Protect Small Businesses and Consumer Choice 🚨

Alabama HB445 is a dangerous piece of legislation that threatens the livelihood of small businesses across our state and strips consumers of access to products they rely on for daily relief.

If passed, HB445 would:
➡️ Impose strict milligram (mg) caps on products, severely limiting their effectiveness for consumers who rely on them for pain management, anxiety relief, and other health needs.
➡️ Ban all smokeable products, which are a vital option for many consumers seeking fast-acting relief.
➡️ Force small businesses to remove these products from their shelves, devastating their ability to operate and support local economies.

This bill is not only harmful to businesses but also an attack on consumer freedom, targeting products that have been safely used by thousands across the state.

AHVA is calling for an ALL HANDS ON DECK response!
We urge small business owners, employees, and consumers to contact the Alabama House Health Committee TODAY. Tell them to vote NO on HB445 and stand up for small businesses and consumer choice in Alabama.

🛑 What You Can Do:
1️⃣ Call and email members of the House Health Committee.
2️⃣ Share your personal stories about how these products positively impact your life or business.
3️⃣ Spread the word to others in your community to join the fight.

A full list of House Health Committee members and their contact information is provided in the comments.

📲 SAVE OUR VAPES 📝

House Bill 8, filed by Barbara Drummond (D-Mobile) will effectively destroy the va**ng industry in Alabama and promote a monopoly over va**ng products.

🚬 This bill will eliminate all but 34 products owned by three "big to***co" companies (R.J. Reynolds, Altria, and Japan To***co International).

More than that, this bill creates a product registry that will cost small businesses THOUSANDS of dollars.

👇 Contact these legislators on the House Judiciary Committee and tell them to VOTE NO on House Bill 8.

We need EVERYONE to make phone calls to the members of this committee to let them know we urge them to vote NO on this bill. If this bill passes this session ALL disposable products and almost all v**e products will be banned in the state forcing thousands back to dangerous ci******es. 🚨🚨Please take a minute to send an email to your lawmakers urging them to oppose HB 65! 🚨🚨

A bill (HB 65) has been introduced that would provide funding for Alabama to enforce its “Vapor Product Directory” law. This bill is scheduled for a hearing in the House Judiciary Committee on

Wednesday, February 21, 2024

If enacted, this law would make funding available for the state of Alabama to be an enforcement arm of the Food and Drug Administration empowering state authorities to enforce the disastrous federal anti-va**ng regulations. This would put independent v**e shops out of business, hundreds of workers out of jobs, and thousands of people at risk of returning to smoking, or delaying attempts at quitting.

Stop HB 65, which would provide funding for the state to shut down v**e shops and enforce the FDA's anti-va**ng regulations
