Well.....bad news. The worst kind.

Martin House told us they were unable to secure a license from the city of Fayette yesterday as the city reported it needs "council approval".

We hope to work with them to get this licensing/permitting issue resolved and invite them back soon!

We will post that information here as well in store for that date. We'll keep tryin.

Well...
After months of rumors (which we pay no mind to), it finally came.
And since it's only polite to share, so here we go.
Today we were served with a letter commissioned by the city of Fayette, which we're sure is just the start of a considerable expense for all.
Most of this letter, in part, demands we remove our beloved Budweiser sign as it "didn't have a permit".
Which just isn't true.
And we're sure they just have a stack of sign compliance permits sitting somewhere amongst city hall's files. (ha)
We're also thrilled the city of Fayette government is so supportive of one of its few local businesses left open after dark and actually contributes sales taxes that it's willing to pay attorneys' fees to persecute, who as convenience would have it left the specific
"codes" and ordinances off this letter.
We're also aware certain institutions in town would likely prefer to see the sign taken down and the building leveled into a parking lot, but not today, and hopefully not anytime soon.
But we should all remember, while they are wielding their influence and may pay a large discounted light bill in Fayette, they directly contribute next to nothing, far as sales tax revenues nor property taxes, which the public school is the largest beneficiary of.

You can also always let your Alderwoman know how you think of the "non permitted" sign.
If you do could please ask them to point us towards the "board of adjustment" we'd appreciate it.

We do have good faith.
