If you've stopped by on a Monday morning, chances are you've been greeted by Brian's smile! In fact, if Bill is out rocking the stage with his band, there's also a good chance Brian has stepped in to cover the shop. No matter when he's here, he always brings a positive attitude that makes everyone's day a little brighter.
Brian has been with The Smoke & Glass Shop longer than just about anyone. He worked for the original owner for more than 20 years, then came to Fallston part-time back when this location first opened its doors, and stayed with us through the ownership change. We couldn't be more thankful that he chose to stick around. Having someone with his experience, loyalty, and dedication means the world to us.
A little about Brian...
Brian is a huge fan of classic rock, and if you've ever caught him humming along to a song behind the counter, you know music is a big part of who he is. He also enjoys playing guitar, and while he doesn't usually put on concerts in the shop, he definitely knows his way around the instrument.
When he's not talking music, there's a good chance you'll find him diving into one of his other passions. Brian has a fascination with ancient world history and biological science. He's one of those people who always seems to have an interesting fact or story tucked away, and conversations with him have a funny way of turning into learning experiences.
He also enjoys identifying and collecting coins. There is a strong possibility you may have seen him with coins from the register out on the counter, just to make sure an heirloom coin isn't out in circulation!
He has a great sense of humor, and has done something many of us would never have the nerve to try... he's gone skydiving several times! Apparently jumping out of a perfectly good airplane sounded like a fun afternoon to Brian. 😄
One of the things we admire most about Brian, though, isn't one of his hobbies. It's his outlook on life. No matter what life throws his way, he always seems to have a smile on his face. Even during difficult times, he continues to show kindness, positivity, and a great attitude. It's something that doesn't go unnoticed, and it's one of the many reasons our customers enjoy seeing him when they stop by.
Every Monday morning, Brian helps us kick off the week on the right foot, and he's always willing to lend a hand whenever we need him. Whether it's covering a shift, helping a customer find exactly what they're looking for, or simply making someone laugh, he's always happy to help.
My husband and I are incredibly grateful to have Brian as part of our team. His loyalty, dependability, and positive spirit have helped make The Smoke & Glass Shop what it is today, and we couldn't imagine the shop without him.
If you haven't had the chance to meet Brian yet, stop by and say hello! Chances are you'll leave with a smile too.
Thank you, Brian, for more than two decades of dedication, hard work, and always bringing your best to the shop. We truly appreciate everything you do!
