J.C. Newman Cigar Co.reintroduced Yagua, a cigar originally from the to***co fields of Cuba, which the Newman family first reproduced in Nicaragua last year. The history of the Yagua dates back to Cuba in the 1940s.
Drew Newman explained, “After hearing Lazaro describe the Yagua ci**rs from his youth in Cuba, I asked if he could produce this cigar at our factory in Nicaragua. We named it Yagua, after the palm leaves that give the ci**rs their distinct shape. Bound and pressed together while still wet, each cigar acquires a slightly different shape, making each one unique.”
Now J.C. Newman has now released Yagua Robusto. Each box contains 20 ci**rs, each measuring approximately 5" x 56. It joins its already available sister stick, the Yagua Toro (6" x 54).
Yagua uses an under fermented Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, a distinct filler blend, and does not employ standard factory tools or techniques. Because the wrapper is not fully fermented, the ci**rs are aged for a full year after rolling.
Wrapper: Connecticut. Broadleaf. Binder: Nicaragua. Filler: Nicaragua. Body: Medium. Tasting Notes: Woody, Sweet, Spicy.
