BAD NEWS!

This just doesnā€™t happen, but we got the votes to vote down HB2565 (awesome!)ā€¦which was Senator Daniels bill (Majority Leader). Senators donā€™t vote against the Leaders bills, EVER. But this time, they did...thatā€™s how bad the bill was. UNFORTUNATELYā€¦ the LOBBYIESTS immediately went to the halls with Daniels and promised WHO KNOWS WHATā€¦They forced a revote, and got the horrible bill passed. (How are lobbyists even legal?) Anyway, now the bill sits in Rep. Osbornā€™s lapā€¦we are in his district! We need you all to reach out to him and let him know we want him to

SIT on this bill and do nothing!

Donā€™t bring it to the floor for a vote.
Donā€™t reject the amendments and sent it to a committee.

This bill will almost for sure put most of the Edmond Liquor stores out of business. It would allow BIG LIQUOR to come in, take over, and send all their profits out of stateā€¦just like amazon, Walmart, Costco, Sams, Lowes, Home Depot, Starbucks, Target, Petsmartā€¦The local businesses are almost all gone. Keep Edmond LOCAL! Otherwise we are going to be another cookie cutter, vanilla town run by corporate giants who will pay us minimum wage to work for them.
